We've formed captains. Each staff member on the list will be helping keep folks on task and there for guidance. Feel free to ask questions and help discuss plans!
We'd also like to see people that are participating to start submitting ideas here from DeedPlanner. The staff would like to consider any ideas you have. Thank you for your help in putting together this wonderful new city for Sklo!
Edit: I will export the deed for deed planner later tonight. We'll be looking to see folks's ideas for both buildings, areas, and whole deed layout. I'll also mention minimum requirements we put together of things we need to see on deed.

Deedplanner puts things at wrong height often if you resize the hieght by 999 you will be high enough for all to be out of water. It will not be true height, but it works. Everyone please keep in mind the the export includes perimeter +1. The perimeter is currently set at 20 for this layout. You can see here where I marked out the southern perimeter on my deedplanner everything below red line is Perimeter. prntscr.com/f16hcs ALso in picture is where to add the height if you aren't use to deed planner (File > Resize gets the pop up in my image)

Just fooling around in deed planner - but my idea/suggestion is maybe to go for that tighter/compact old European style village? So perhaps some buildings are two floors and the tailoring shoppe is on the ground floor while the leatherworking shoppe is on the second floor. Maybe nestled between each building is a market stall? A large open square for events/auctions what not. Also making use of all the new wall & floor types that will be available. I've fiddled around in Deedplanner - but this is what I've cooked up so far along that idea: Attachments:

new starter town.MAP (466.16 KB) If anyone wants to play with it, just what I fiddled around with in DeedPlanner - just the idea of a small/compact centralized area with marketstalls & workshops mixed together. A lot of buildings could just be "dead space" i.e. offlimits via locked doors.

And just some more pics because it's my day off from work after 6 days straight and I'm bored.

Nice designs! Can't wait to see more =D
It does however make me think we may be getting too far ahead of ourselves. If the land we are working with is all flat any design chosen would work. The problem being the terraforming hasn't been done yet and there will likely be tiers of land instead of a big flat area like Haven and New Town. Most of this deed has a mountain top sitting there. I'm anxious to see how it all turns out. It almost seems like maybe we should wait on designs until the terraforming is done so people can export the exact layout of the land. Comments?

What I've done is a suggestion - not an actual proposal for the space itself. I used a default map. From what I saw in the map uploaded there is a large flattened out here, and then the hills. I, personally, like to make use of the natural terrain and terraform as needed.
I think keeping the buildings close/small/stacked reduces the amount of terraforming that would need to be done. I can fool around with the actual map and see how that would work.

I think they're just open to design suggestions at the moment versus actual proposals
