It seems that the first red beam has finally popped up on the server and we will soon be ready to beat up foul Jackal beasts and collect some sweet rift loots! So, what will you need to know to participate? First of all, rifts can be opened 48 hours after they spawn, giving all players some time to prepare for it. This means that we can open this rift at Saturday 4 november, 8PM UTC. (All next rifts will be scheduled randomly, which means they may appear on less convenient times) Each rift will take place in one of the rift zones that are currently on the map (they will not happen outside these zones, so no worries about backyard rifts). The current rift has spawned at Ivan's Folly, to where the red beam leads: andistyr.github.io/wu-map/#2722_1122Since this is our first rift, we don't really have any rules yet, but please keep your wagons outside the zone. It will probably get chaotic enough inside the rift zone already. (do I still need to say #getyourwagonoutofmyface?) Oh, and if anyone has some source salt laying around, feel free to bring it with you. We might need it.

I saw the beam before I saw the message in events. The test was a blast so I will try to be there!

Will it be the same as in WO where any hitched animals (carts and wagons) or lead/loose horses (if you get killed) get attacked and killed? Or has the rift creature AI been tweaked for WU? In any case, it's probably a good idea to not bring your favourite horse to the fight.

In any case, it's probably a good idea to not bring your favourite horse to the fight. The rift monsters are the default WU ones (same ones as the ones spawned at some events), which seem to act pretty brainwashed compared to the WO ones. I haven't seen any attack horses yet, but I am not 100% sure if they can target animals.

Michiel, even though it did go not exactly as you had carefully plotted and planned, it went well, and was a BLAST !!!!!!!!!!! I had a lot of fun and caught up with many I have not seen since Novus. Thanks for such fun. I lost a horse which I had thought was in a safe are.......lesson learnt. Rifts devour good horses. Next time I will be like Engineer and ride a cow. So appreciate all the work you do in developing and implementing such fun into the game. Thanks

I agree with everything Elfin said 100%. First time events are always a bit bumpy. I had so much fun running and riding around. Look forward to the next one!
