Hello. I played wurm online off and on for about 9 years. I have a toon with medium/advanced stats on there that I had done a skill dump on a year or two ago. Since Wurm UNlimited came out I have seen one other server offer to transfer stats from a previous WO account instead of starting back out at almost no skill.
Could I get my toon stats applied to my current toon on Sklo if I provide the skill dump? I have been on Sklo a couple times, but honestly this is the THIRD server I've been on since WU came out and I'm tired of starting over. Would like to play along with my wife (Delta) on here, but not at yet another noob stage. My character on WO was Thrundar. Some may find grinding skills fun, I don't. I've already ground about as much as I'm going to. Now I'd just like to enjoy...and not grind so much.
Please do consider this. Throggy

dont you think this would be unfair to all the guys who started with nothing on this server? Hello. My question was to the people who run the server. Second, no I do not think it is unfair to anyone. Re-read my post. 9 years in WO. How much WO time and cash did you have invested and can back it up with a proof of skill dump? If you have a WO toon with fair stats, maybe you'd like to have those stats transferred here? Hmmm?

I understand how you feel throggy, however, Wurm Unlimited is NOT Wurm Online. I can assure you that any progress you've made in WO, you'll be able to surpass in a few weeks if not a month or two. My main character already has 99.2 Carpentry and 80 in Weaponsmith & Blacksmithing, the server has only been up since late October - Early November.

Yea, as a 10 year WO Vet, I wish I could transfer my stats to here...
But after playing here since the end of November and gaining up the skills, I'd be super pissed if they let people transfer in, the grind really does not exist here in the capacity that it did on WO.
You'll find that there are a lot of Wurm Vets here, I can't see that you'd find any support though.

I was not rude, however I can be if you like. You have not seen me even get near to being rude. Also, I do not TROLL others posts looking to start arguments. It is clear this is what you are, and have been doing for awhile now. Too bad I called you out on it, while others prefer to let you slide. Go away. As for the others here who have made replies. Yeah, I could see the being upset at someone thinking of this when you did not, and then they got the skill because they asked politely if it could be done. However I can see this thread and idea will go nowhere due to at least one troll, and it was good idea that is a bit too late. Glad ya'll want to live on this and grind. I don't. Maybe I'll drop in time to time online and visit my wife.

No worries or hard feelings, we're all friends here. My suggestion to you would be to start fresh and grind it out with the rest of us. I have tried many WU servers and this is by far the friendliest and most supportive with a great staff. A lot of WO players here that have sunk time into it, so I don't see them going anywhere. Besides, if you were to transfer your skills over, you would have nothing to look forward to and miss out on the grind and the grats afterwards! Come join your wife and build together! I know I would (but she is too heavily invested in Don't Starve Shipwrecked).

No that is not trolling, this is a fair question in every way.
We are happy to welcome you and your wife Throggy, but we can't covert skill from WO to WU. This would be unfair against the rest of the playerbase and we can't be sure that you really have all the skills in WO. I am also with WO since 2008, so I know the feeling of starting from scratch, it can be boring. But a new beginning is a new chance of learning something new. I can remember back when I skilled the first of my skills to 50, it was an amazing time. And personally I lost fun with growing skills, the newbie times have always been the best times in my Wurm career. I am not old, 20 years only, so I started Wurm in the age of 13. This time spent along with a few RL friends like Sklo and CO, became a wonderful memory for me. The time when things were not that busy, were everything was slower than it is now, was the best in my life. Now things are different, stress, work, business, everything runs so fast.
Starting from scratch would mean a challenge with more memories and stories. If you start from scratch you will be doing things you wouldn't with having all your skills.
So I hope I could point out some of the huge advantages and indeed you will recognise really fast that we are different than other servers. We are taking things alot more serious, because every player counts. Other bigger servers don't care about loosing a few people. That is why most people end up here in Sklotopolis we are attracting quite a nice amount of players from the big servers. And if you stay with WU you will stay with Sklotopolis, the others can confirm this promised.

I can vouch for Throggy's character he's an upstanding individual as I have played numerous games including WO with him off and on over the last couple of years.
In my opinion there is no harm in asking a question. He has his answer. He will either decide to play or he won't. Personally, I look forward to him joining and being an active part of the community.
