At the same time that the West Spawn was being deployed, a user started construction on this lake and has been creating a canal cutting into land that would have allowed a road going E. I built the first portion of the road going E of the spawn point with the intention of eventually connecting to the next perpendicular roads to the E.
At the time I created the road that goes E of the spawn, the canal had already been started, was shallow and passable by cart. However, it seems the user on the lake wants it to be deep and now has dug it impassable.
In addition, at this point someone else seems to have taken the cause of continuing the road E, as there currently is a construction effort advancing the road on the E side of the canal.
In these situations, who is responsible for providing a bridge infrastructure to allow traffic over the canal?
What is the right way to communicate about these things so all parties can get organized, instead of this situation possibly going on for a long time with no traffic allowed.
Normally if the canal is causing a serious detour (>30 tiles), like in this case, the creator of the canal has to provide an easy and fast accessible way to pass the canal (i.e. through a bridge). Since the canal is just a few tiles wide it should not be that much work. Try to get in contact with the owner and maybe offer him your help if you want.
If you need more help or are not able to reach him/her let me know and I will help.
So, I was going to write about my plan to get in touch with the people working on the canal and the road in order to seek a shared plan, etc, but ultimately if I had just waited a day none of this needed to be discussed because someone finished a bridge over the canal. I think it was the player building the road from the other end.
So I guess it is case closed. The road is passable, and the good Sklo community wins again.
