This happens to me quite a lot when mining or digging on two characters. I always figured it was something to do with the way I was left clicking. I always figured part of the cause was due to which window is active. if I am mining on the left screen I have to click or activate the right screen before I can start an in game action. Its during that process I usually spin around 180 and potentially mine places I don't want. the more time I take when switching between screens the less it seems to happen. Not that I am always that patient.

I find this happens when my finger starts clicking the left mouse button more towards the middle of the button rather than more at the end. The chair I use isn't really designed for sitting at a desk, so my hand has a tendency to slide down the mouse until most of my palm is on the desk. I know this isn't a Wurm issue because it also happens in other games.

There are several things that can cause this. One of them is a mouse position tracking bug in windows when working with two monitors. I tend to notice it in wurm and 7zip but I don't understand it well enough to report it.
Only workaround I have found is to click the event window when switching context. Your mouse technically is still snapping to the old screen, but the event window doesn't steer the camera so its fine.

Just a possibility, but in another game there was a similar issue. The solution was that if there was a game controller hooked up to the PC, the game camera would move. If the controller was unplugged, the problem stopped. The game controller was not being used, just sitting on the desk, but somehow it was causing issues.
