Jackal was released/unfinished because budda wasn't allowed to complete The thought/conception/idea of it might be and have been well and good but the execution of it.. was wanting. graphical work on fortress was testament to this. i even volunteered license-free commitment. as did a good few udders. Whatever evolves needs to distract itself from what Jackal turned out to be. That said i never actually tried Jackal gosklo header

I didn't take part in Jackal either, but have a friend who did, and she liked it, said it was a fun time. She told me about what happened, and it sounded good, in theory. If it was poorly implemented there, I'm sure Sklo could shake things up a bit where required. Everything is more fun on Sklo!

I think a pve server disconnected from mail and boat travel or any other form would be interesting. It could have it's own economy, of course when i mean disconnected i also mean it would need an alt or new char to be able to play on it.

Unique's spawning on Caza is a great idea. It was suggested a while ago that they spawn but not drop hide or a bone so the market didn't suffer but player groups could go over there to kill them for fun with out staff rules.

This is the only way I would be ok with it. Once you allow private groups to kill uniques it would ruin everything we have worked hard for over the years here. The community fights are fun and fair and we don’t need to become WO private loot groups.

Long ago i played on a cluster that had a hard-core hunting server that was super fun. Essentially it spawned zillions of very difficult and rewarding mobs as well as many uniques. The rules on the hunt server didn't require coordination (other than organizing enough people ad-hoc) for unique kills because they weren't rare, but you had to be very careful due to them being populous enough that your group could get blind-sided by a wandering kyklops while you were trying to kill a dragon. It was a server where you really stood a chance of dying by PVE. I would *love* to see something like that implemented, it was super fun to always be able to join a pick-up group heading off to fight truly difficult mobs/uniques for high reward. as iam already wrote. NO PRIVATE SLAYINGS with so high value/rare loot. in my mind, the deathcrawler are already op when you see the loot. the scale/hide set should be a little bit more rare. it would be too easy to farming high valueable stuff. the idea with uniques which don't drop scale, bones etc is good, perhaps as little "goodie" a chance of 1/10 to get one affinity for one people in the slaying group. but yes, we need stronger mobs, and i know ,a few guys will don't like it, we need a way which make flee impossible, so if you have aggro of a mob, one need to die. one of the current problems is in my mind, you can flee from every mob in this game. i know, this depends the game mechanic, but why we don't improve them? mobs which make aoe, so animals would get dmg too or could be stunned too. range attacks for some mobs (goblin/troll with bows, why not, or spider which would stun you with their string ). whatever, the goal should be, you couldn't survive there alone, you should need at least a group of 3-4 people toi kill the default mobs, for the harder ones, 7-8 and the adjusted uniques 12-16 ( and all need to be high skilled/equipped). ah, reskin items would be a nice idea for special drops as example. so you could use then like a bone on a weapon, and the skin will be changed to one of the artefact skins

my vote goes to a advanced skill up server were new players get to experience the pve side of things faster and then move onto novus or liberty currently people who seem to join also leave due to big hurdle of investment to see what the game has to offer vs skill gains taking a lot of hours still, connect the chat system on the system but not connect it to novus or liberty then at a later stage you can as lib and novus population grows turn it into a 3rd PvE over time or add a 4rth growing the main pop as more people will move on to liberty and novus,
PvP server faction style often does not workout due to facts that if one fraction becomes dominant on population people naturally gravitate towards it making it a 1 faction thing. 3rd PvE server with connection - will divide the community even more as population shifts from lib to novus as an example wile lib isn't full yet or no longer full over time, aka 3rd server splits it even more.
long term i think the skill up like a 20x or 10x would attract more players witch in end is what you want and in future of a nice lib filled server as well as novus with a good economy social interaction and teamplay/knowledge benefits all.

Some have brought up ideas about removing liberty and adding a new server, but there's also option to alter existing map in many ways. Even the real world was super continent once but during the years it has separated in to multiple continents and formed new lakes, mountains canyons and whatnot. Something similar could maybe be done in both liberty and novus either in gracefully (avoiding existing deeds) less so (purely random). In my opinion Wurm PVE has problem that the Environment doesn't but much of a fight it makes a lot of things a lot less exiting than they could be.
For server teleports I would prefer them to be accessible through starter towns just to promote traveling in Wurm instead of people just hopping from their deed to another. These being in starter towns would also help newbies to more easily join their friends even if they pick a wrong server at start.
Another suggestion I have in relation to trading and socializing is public marketplace / hub area where players can place their merchants and admins can showcase their donation things. This marketplace should be easily accessible from anywhere through a teleport back and forth from e.g players own deed token. The servers are so sparsely populated that something like this would make asynchronous trading a lot easier and provide players a place to maybe meet up and hang out from time to time. This is actually from one of the MMO's I played a long time a go called Conquer online which had similar very successful marketplace.
But as for Wurm and it's popularity I don't think its going to get any more popular unless it gets mod that's in the level of the likes of DayZ or DOTA that fundamentally changes how the game is played and how players progress. Some of the problems I've noticed is with the skill system, i.e it's very clear that they've wanted to avoid the jack of all trades types of players to encourage multiplayer aspects of the game, however their way of enforcing this in WO with slow skill-gain ruins the experience and fast leveling in WU straight up gives everyone ability to become jack of all trades making the game more or less single player experience. Personally I would have used the affinity system for skill-multipliers giving players ability to choose handful of affinities that would get 3-6x boost to skill-gain and action timers making players really choose their profession. But this is not really something so well established server like Sklotopolis can really use.
I am however very happy the see the modding scene somewhat revitalized with new discord and forum so hopefully they'll come up with new ways to spice up the E part of PVE.

okay so update on the situation
Currently there is no new server planned for the near future. Reason why is that with the general playercount of the game nearly being at an all time low, we came to the conlcusion that a 3rd server right now is not needed nor a good idea (considering player spread). We will ofc keep an eye on the numbers and the situation in general and let you know in time if anything should change.
For right now you can keep discussing ideas and requests as these will be used as input for a potential new server in the future.

The portalled no-gear events' miniserver still sounds fun. Y'know, someplace where Engineer can prove that he's not a softie and actually does want to watch stuff he spawns rip through an army of players.
