We have a host for this event. Shao. Thankyou Shao.
Choosing and co ordinating with staff member the time and date.
Arrive on site to begin the event.
Announce the 'rules' - no Hell Horses, no carts/wagons, no pets that eat corpses, to take the mob hearts before burying and sacrificing the hearts to keep the rift going. Remind players to collect resources at end and claim their reward from the inscription stone.
To Shout go go go, when it is time to link to the alter.
To have fun.
Keep it simple is best. Just co-ordinate date and time with Elfin. The rest usually falls into place. Support and coaching available if needed.
ALERT. A band of travellers on the way to the rift have not arrived. This could involve our brave rift hunters helping them out. Allow time if you wish to help out. If you will need a horse or horse/cart please post here. This could take awhile.
Currently, the first area (1) squared on the map is difficult to pass with a Cog. The second area (2) is inaccessible by Cog. This is frustrating as there is a huge canal by which clearly a Cog can pass, but someone just decided to drop ground in that area. Those areas look to be part of public domain. Could someone dredge those areas, or, if no one clears those by the time of the event, is it ok if I dredge them for future boat access?
If anybody is arriving on a boat that will not fit through those areas my deed is right by Engi's bridge and I have a dock and 8 sailing boats I would be more than happy to loan out, just let me know either on here or in game and I will sort one out for anybody in need!
Tested with my caravel. I went in as far as the bridge at the opening of the canal, there are still some shallow spots but with a little bit of careful navigation large ships should now be able to get into the canal. Great job Elfin!
We went to inspect the new rift that has arrived. An oasis magically had appeared above the rift area - a patch of green in the middle of the wastelands to provide some much appreciated shade.
We were expecting more travellers to meet up with us at the rift from the other side of the desert, but they were nowhere to be found. As we scouted the landscape, it became obvious why they had yet to show up.
Carus sent word to our royal highness about the inbalance of nature and informed them that there was more than the rift to deal with here. Our royal highness tasked Carus with setting up a base camp, in preparation for reinforcements that were to be sent soon from the Freedom guard training facility.
The magic oasis that sprung up on a hill out of nowhere seemed to be the perfect spot for the camp. A unicorn passed by - as a sign from the gods, that this was indeed the spot from which to restore the balance of nature.
While building, the first travellers finally did show up and provided much needed help keeping the site safe as Carus kept working on the camp. The very first group of travellers had been slowed down trying to get through the horde of mobs, but were safe and sound (allbeit thirsty and tired). The oasis must have been like a haven after all those days in the desert.
Here I am, enjoying my breakfast at the campfire before getting ready for my guard shift:
Elfin kindly came by and offered supplies and labor to get a building started - which was well needed. Sleeping in tents in these unbalanced lands has been difficult. We take turns keeping watch, but the constant fighting of the guards on duty keeps us all on the edge and our dreams are filled with monsters. It's like this oasis acts as a magnet for bad things. A sturdy building with a door to lock out these foul creatures is our main goal right now.
The constant fighting is starting to wear us thin. We hope to be able to hold out til reinforcements make it here. We have been told that as soon as the rift is dealt with - we shall get help to bring some balance back to nature.
