Have a road on Liberty that is absolutely dismal but you'd never fix it yourself? post it here instead! Try to include brief info, GPS, map screenshot, in game screenshots, doodle or explain what you want done, and I'll forward it to the LDOT (liberty department of transportation)
We'll see what we can do to fix up any public road issues that need addressed! 🚧 Completed LDOT projects will be posted in this thread !

Hi Taka,
This is a wonderful idea - there are many roads on Liberty that are like huge steps, which need smoothing.
I have smoothed the few roads around my deed and I would be happy to help with this project, once it gets going more fully.

Related question: Is there any way to avoid vehicles falling through the bridges when the bridge connects to very steep slope or a building? In context of highways, i have one running through my place with height difference of about 1000 slope between lowest and highest points (it's a huge dip in the terrain). I bought all the materials to build 2x1 marble supporting buildings and marble bridges to replace that mess with a highway up in the air, did the math and it would work out with having a single bridge for a ramp to get to the correct elevation and from there it would be smooth sailing, way above the terrain.
I tested it on a local server though, 16 story buildings, max length bridges between them, catseyes work fine on that and it looks good from distance. It all worked at "normal" speeds (wild horses hitched to a wagon). Once the vehicle gets above 40km/h or so, it tends to fall through the bridge at the connections about 20% of the time and can be easily reproduced.
We have few places like that, ally has one of those bridges connected to a building as well and his cart fell through as well.
I scrapped the idea of using buildings for the pillars and thought about making them using dirt pillars instead but then i fell through a bridge connected to a steep slope while map hunting (was able to recover the wagon by flattening some tiles to make a passable path). So the issue is not only with bridges connected to buildings.
I would really love to complete that project but i won't risk having people being rescued by GMs every other day.
Is there anything that can be done to avoid this?

I'm not entirely sure what even causes the bridge/wagon issue to begin with, but I have been victim to it soooo many times over the years. If we could figure that out and avoid it, it would be amazing.

If we could figure that out and avoid it, it would be amazing. I wonder if this might work; We know this only happens at the tile border where the bridge connects to a very steep slope, like so: I wonder if it would be fixed by extending the tiles just under the connection to maybe 20-30 slope so that even if the vehicle does fall through, it ends up on a slope it can easily continue traveling on? I will test this on a local server next week and update. It will take a LOT more dirt than the original plan but it could help fixing some of the roads around the server.

My gut feeling says to drive slower. Like scooting thru the walls on a corner in the mine.

Hi, When my cart fell through a steep bridge and had to be rescued by GM Harmonia, she advised me to approach a bridge more slowly and to be centered properly on it. meredit: Maybe a sign or two, saying "slow down" and "enter bridge right in the middle" might help?

Sure it might but it's a workaround, not really a fix. New players might get annoyed enough to log off and never come back so i'll keep looking for a solution which will stop this from happening. I'll test the dirt pillars with less sloped entry points first. On paper it seems like it might work.

I would like to suggest the use of "alternate" cateyes for liberty highways, I've already a good example of this at my deed if anyone is interested.
