Dear Wurmians
Sklotopolis is now 6 months old and we want to thank you all for playing, we are proud to host this experience for you and it was and still is a pleasure to do so. You made this the server what it is today and therefore you deserve to know what will happen in the future.
First of all the server will be running and be developed for an infinite amount of time. Thanks to donations we have no financial issues. However keep in mind this project is not generating revenue, so we do this for free and we will keep doing so. Time there is for development can vary strongly week by week! Only want to make sure you keep this in mind when some promised releases are delayed(Hunting Server).
Secondly, I would like to talk about that will happen with the main server. The from us created PVP zone isn't really kicking off and we heard your feedback about it, so we decided to create a PVP Island which doesn't allow you to build deeds and towers and is complete Deathmatch.
To make it more interesting the Island will yield pressures metals such as glimmer. Which not only makes shiny armor, but can be used to create deadly weapons. This should make it much more rewarding for people to to there, maybe group up etc. People who are afraid of dying can just hire people to do so or buy it for high prices. PVP Island will be relatively small.
Furthermore the Hunting Server will be implemented as promised.
Lastly, we have the most breaking news. It is a drastic change from what most of you have expected, it will be a dedicated PVP Cluster Styx, which you will be able to access through a oneway ticket from New Town for new accounts. Styx will be its own Cluster due to some reasons:
Server is up for 6 months already and catching up would be a pain in the buckwheat.
Sklotopolis playerbase consists mainly of PVE's and we want to attract players from the deinig PVP Servers of WO.
Negative effects of an new big deedable PVP server to Sklotopolis(Affinity abuse, priest abuse and saveheaven after server crossing)
Can not share the same Skill Database for technical reasons
The new server will feature drastic changes to PVP relevant game mechanics, that could be unfit for PVE Server
You can play on both with a fresh ALT and are not forced to decide. I spent hours with some old friends and we analysed stale game mechanics and created a list of great improvements. Some of which will be:
Rework of Horses
Rework of Sailing
Rework of Archery
Map designed to be fought on
New Ranks and Statistics
No full Drop
Remove Balance Meditation and Sorcery
No Alts
Champion Rework
New skills for ridding and sailing
Priest balance (Not bound to kingdom, no penalty)
Support supportive players(healer,...) will receive Rank and affinities.
I will tease more and more about Styx over time and go into greater detail, put questions in the Comment-section below!
