Hallo everyone, At first: Don't be mad please, it's just a little proposal -nothing more.
All events on sklotopolis are great and I love to participate, though I'm not the best Fighting-skilled man out there... But... Don't you think some of the loot/prizes are a bit "overpowered" or "end-game-like"? What I mean are full armour sets (Seyll, Scales etc.. )
I'm on Sklo from the beginning (on Liberty first as Mike and now as MikeNov on Novus) and I'm trying to gatcher enough materials for my self-made armour (and weapons) and of corse to grind my skills aswell -this is what the most of us are doing and it takes a lot of time (what it's indeed great!) Winning a full set on the other hand would be like I did all this for nothing; I'd be happy -no doubt -but a lot of my current tasks would have gone somehow...
As I said, it's only a suggestion but can you maybe give away single parts (like Helmets, Leggins, Gauntlets etc..) insted of full sets? or even better: raw materials or lumps? Like a bag full of Glimmersteel, Seryll or Adamantine -just to name some examples. One would be able to do whatever he or she want to with these materials (e.g. craft tools / weapons / armour) or if someone has not interests in materials he or she could sell it then later -that could also live up a bit the Sklotopolis economy and wouldn't kill the motivation.
TL;DR Consider giving single items / meterials instead of full sets.
Best Regards Mike.

Type 'Pass' into local chat if you win something and just take the scale/hide/blood. The game was made for people that don't want the long grind/farm for items of Wurm Online. Embrace the quality of life mods.

The items "donated" by staff at the event raffles are not generated, but instead a lot of times redistributed from past events or found abandoned in the world. For example, rare mailboxes, carts, wagons, etc are items not lootable by the looters at abandoned deeds so the GMs pick these items up and store them for a future raffle, where they can redistribute them into the world and keep these wonderful items in use by an active player. The scale or drakes sets are made by players from left over pieces of dragon scale or drake hide collected over time. This last round, our platesmith felt like imping them to 90 so enjoy that Hopefully this helps explain your observation.

A lot of those prizes are made by players for players. The couple of folks wearing mord-made seryll chain didn't seem too frustrated if you ask me.
On the flip side, I wear glim chain and won a drake set on a hunt.. four things you can do...
Save it in case you change your mind at some point. Give it away. Sell it to a friend for a token fee. Auction it for sweet profit.
Don't let it get to you. Just enjoy the events and if you win bigger than you wanted to, make someone else's day eh.
