As I alluded to in the cooking contests thread, I'm putting together the next one as we speak. I wanted to give everyone some more information to allow time to prepare. I've signed on Danky to help me with this one as there is a ton of preparation on our part. This cooking contest will be different than the others I've facilitated in the past (simply submitting your ideas for voting on the forums). This time, we're going to incorporate a mini-game into it for some extra fun. As the title suggests, we are going to do this one Chopped style (similar to the TV show). If you've never watched Chopped on the Food Network, I suggest looking it up and familiarize yourself with it. It's a great series! I think I've come up with a way to Wurmize this contest, so hopefully it feels fair and most importantly is fun. The end goal from all of this is the same, to submit your custom recipes for consideration to be included in the Sklotopolis Cooking System.
When: The contest will take place on February 1st @ 8pm UTC.
Where: Zheddmar Docks, at the Impalong Site used last year, in the Chopped Cookhouse.
GPS: andistyr.github.io/wu-map/14821/#zheddmar-docks-3287
Here's the jist of how this is going to work...
- Anyone who is interested in submitting a recipe idea, will need to be present at the time of the game. Plan for about an hour (or 2 tops) we'll need your engagement.
- There will be assigned judges (likely staff members or others appointed that are not participating).
- Everyone will be presented with a basket. In this basket will be ingredients that must be in your recipe in some fashion.
- The participants will be timed to finish creating their dish before being judged at the end.
How do you move on and get a shot at having your recipe included in Sklo?
- We will do multiple rounds. An appetizer round, a main course round, and a dessert round.
- Each round the judges will "chop" someone, narrowing down to the top participants. Reasons for being chopped will range from style, ingredients used, or not finishing in the allotted time for example.
- Depending on our turnout, we will try to end up with a 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. Those recipes will get included into Sklo, with 1st place's recipe being named after them.
- There are 10 cooking stations. If we get more than 10 participants to sign up, we will adjust accordingly.
I would suggest having some backup ideas. You never know what will be in those baskets

In order to get an idea of who will be participating, so we can set this up appropriately (and as fair as possible), I'm opening up a poll on this thread as a way to gauge. Please vote whether or not you are interested in participating in this Cooking Contest. Here's a few more details from Q&A I've received: - Completed dishes need to not actually be completed in game. If they are, we can't use them since they are already in game.
- You can use single ingredients in your recipe, or created ingredients to go into your recipe. It doesn't matter, as long as the finished product does not complete.
- Since the judges can't see you working with all the equipment and ingredients, make sure you are representing everything you expect the judges to know about how your recipe was made at the judging table. For example: If you place a plate with a chicken, mashed potatoes, pea, with a fork beside it...then the judges can assume you including all these ingredients in the plate container and activate a fork to create it.
- If there is no good way to represent a good portion of your recipe, then you'll be provided with pen and paper to write down those notes for the judges to understand. The idea is to try to minimize the amount of explanation needed at the judges table itself.
- This contest will be run as close to the Chopped show as possible. Each round will get XX minutes. When your time is up, you'll be asked to step away from the cooking station. Someone will place the dishes on the judging table (probably me), and then everyone will get a chance to represent their recipes.

Judges, if you know you're judging, select "I will be there, but I want to watch only."
As of today, the judges are still being decided.

A BIG THANKS to all the contributors and helpers for setting up this event. The Chopped Cookhouse is ready to crown some Chopped Champions! We have all the cooking stations set up and ready to go. We have plenty of ingredients, a wide variety of stuff to use. I would recommend if you have someone off-the-wall you are thinking of putting into a recipe, that you bring it just in case it isn't here. We have a huge ingredients list here on-site, but it's best to be prepared. We only have 3 players so far per the poll. If anyone else is interested in participating, let us know! Spread the word! This will be a fun event. I hope to see more sign up over the coming weeks. We have 10 available stations for the contest. Plenty of room for more. There are prizes involved!

Need to get some more dragon meat recipes. Would make it much more useful. I personally dont cook in game or real life but figured I would mention as a suggestion.

In these final days leading up to the challenge on Saturday, I wanted to reach out and get an accurate number of participants. The poll says 4 will be playing. While we welcome everyone to come and watch, I'm going to be strict on holding this competition to 10 or less knowing that not many people want to play. We've designed the rules and play style of this game around 10 participants.
To give a little more detail about what to expect for each round specifically. There will be 5 things in your basket. You must use 3 of them. If you use more (like all 5), you can win bonus points with the judges...but it is not required. At the end of each round, the judges will review your dish and decide based on style, creativity, and following the rules who will stay and who will get chopped.
If you haven't seen the Chopped shows, here's an example of what we're going for. It won't be exact, but it should be fun.
If you have signed up to participate, please send me a PM so I know who is coming. Thank you!

Thanks everyone who attended! We had a good time; there was tough competition with a lot of creative thinking! Took some screenshots of the event: imgur.com/a/MaH4yTsA few of my favorites: The judges ( Vindale , elfin , danky ): The competitors ( vitez , Naeah, gkkau25 ) hard at work: And the tables have turned! Our competitors now get to judge the bonus round: While our judges are hard at work:

It was obvious many had put in work to prepare the site and organise this event. Naeah, Gkkau and Vitez were the brave chefs who stepped up. - Rat and Feta Risoto, Cheesy Rat with nut, Creamy Fruit Soup.
- Failed Salmon, Eastern Dragon Stew, Fried Rice.
- Dragon Scone, Drunken Haggis, Scone and shoom.
Man !!!!!!! they did not make it easy to judge. Congratulations to Naeah for winning - Sklotopolis' first ever Chopped Chef. What fun was had. Thanks to all who made it possible. Wreck and his wrecking crew
