Currently on South Liberty and North Novus, there is a newly made highway system that goes directly up to the borders of the server.

There is no way to directly connect the servers by land or bridge. You can't raise the server crossing tiles above water either. (1y and 2094y couldn't be raised beyond 40 height, as 0y and 2095y are unterraformable. The dirt disappears.)
This was an experimental network designed with the intention of making it easier for people to cross servers without the nuisance of using boats. Unfortunately I've hit a bit of a snag in the system. It requires me to either be online for it to work due to the requirement of adding 'explicit' permissions to players attempting to cross using the rowing boats I've created with 'generalized' permissions.
[04:07:12] <Toasteater> [12:06:52] You may not leave the server with this boat. You need to be explicitly specified in the boat's permissions.
[04:09:44] <Dairuka> [04:09:38] You Added Toasteater(+Can Command, +Can be Passenger, +Access Hold, +May Drag)
[04:09:55] The small rowing boat sails off on a course to Novus.
Right now, the project serves as a good base of operations for people to cross the server at will with their own parked boats, with nearby wagons or tents at the ready.
However, this still means that newbies who pick the wrong server will not be able to use the project without me giving explicit permissions - which can poise a problem if I'm not online all the time. This could be alleviated by having CM's or GM's able to give permissions to boats manually, but again, not everyone is going to be online at all times. Someone will get stranded. It's also not cost effective or time effective to lay out a bunch of pre-made boats with one item left to complete, if the border crossing gets a lot of traffic.
This means I'm going to have to put in a few suggestions to the moderation staff.
Another suggestion that has been brought up, and I'm perfectly willing to work with the server on is - the creation of a new spawn/teleport area, much like Genesis, with a crystal that will allow players to port to the locale without having to walk across the highway on foot. This project has 'deedable' locations on both sides/both servers. I am more than willing to work with the moderation staff to fill in more land to create/beautify an area for this expressed purpose. This would have the added benefit of giving people a place to port from on the otherside, again, without requiring them to walk all the way across.
This isn't necessary - I plan to build up cities on both sides regardless. It's just an idea to give people faster access to the other server. Just note I'm more than willing to cede the land to the developers/modders/GM's/CM's who want to put their own touches on the area created if it means making server travel that much more accessible for everyone.

- Idea #1: Add the ability to cross servers with 'generalized permissions' to rowing boats. (As I only will use rowing boats for this project.)
- Idea #2: Add a server mod that adds a new type of boat. One designed to be used to cross servers with 'generalized permissions'. I'll then just populate the server crossing areas with these boats. You could make it easy to build, but extremely slow and unusable for general sailing use. (5 km/h for instance.)
- Idea #3: Add a server mod that allows players to 'plot course' while swimming. (I have no idea if this is even possible.)
- Idea #4: (Stole this from Knightshade.) - Make it so swimming south of Liberty takes you to North Novus. Likewise, make it so swimming North Novus takes you to South Liberty. Without plotting a course. As right now you can swim south of Liberty and go to North Caza.
