Event Healing with Light of FO (MUST READ)

I know this post will be rather long to read, please if you’re a Fo Priest Player who plans to cast Light of FO at events (officially or unofficially) YOU MUST READ THIS OR MORE PLAYERS WILL DIE!
We all need to band together at event's to keep our friends and alts from getting killed by a 1000 cuts! You can help by reading through and making friends with more Fo priests to more successfully cast Light of Fo at an event!
What is Light of Fo? Light of Fo is an area of effect spell given to priests of Fo at 33 faith.
It heals 5 wounds for a total of 1/5th of the spell's power, and automatically targets the most severe wounds. A minimum of 6-7 damage per wound will be healed.
How to cast it: Method: Activate your Fo statuette, Right-click a tile. Select Spells > Light of Fo
What is the problem with Light of FO being cast over and over again at Community events and why do players die and not get healed when the cast is happening over and over again…
Main key here is that Light of Fo has HEALING RESISTANCE
Healing spells and enchantments grant the healed player a healing resistance effect. This effect is applied based on how much health is healed and will reduce all further healing on the target from any healing spells or enchantments. This includes healing spells as well as weapon enchantments that heal the player, such as Life transfer.
The maximum duration of healing resistance is approximately 20 minutes, and the reduction scales linearly from that mark. For example, if you have 10 minutes of healing resistance remaining, you will receive heals at 50% normal effectiveness.
Who/How can cast it better?
Fo Priests who have, high Channeling, the least number of penalties (Armour penalty) to casting, Level 11 on the Path of Love.
What, 11th level Path of Love? Yes, 11th level PoL grants a passive ability that gives the priest a 50% bonus to healing actions. (that’s not a 50% increase, it doubles ALL Healing from the cast).
How do players die during events where 10+ players are spam casting Light of FO? Well everyone who has damage that gets priest “1’s” LoF cast is now resistant to healing for as much as 20 MINUTES!! (look for the spell icon on your screen that shows what your resistance is after someone cast the spell when you had damage). Then what happens when LoF gets cast by Priest “2”, well the players who didn’t have damage to be healed till after the first cast finished, then they will get healed (as per the spell) however those who got healed during the first cast WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY HEALING unless their resistance is overcome. Then Priest “3” then it continues like what happened from Priest “2”. Now fast forward to 5 minutes into the fight…who is getting healed after 10 casts in those 5 minutes? At best most healing will just get players a minimal amount of healing when they are in need of more and everyone wonders why players died.
Basically said, No matter if the player got 1 wound healed by 5 separate casts or 5 all at once they end up with the same heal resistance timer. If you get 50% healed and I only get 10%, you will get 5x the timer.
How do you most effectively cast Light of Fo at an event? It will ultimately be up to the event organizer to determine who and how many should be casting at an event. But I would suggest that Fo priests and batteries get together in cells of 5-6 Priests, link to the most powerful of the 6 priests and then have just one cast LoF every 3 minutes. If we have 2-3 of these cells at the event Plus a Single Healer on each of the tanks. We would limit the amount of healing resistance produced and keep more players from death. We have mischievous players who like to heal the unique we are fighting, if we work together as a community instead of having 20 players casting LoF every minute we would not have happen to us what happened at Engineers Troll Invasion.

One thing I don't know for sure...Does Linking increase the difficulty of the cast, when reading Wurmpedia it doesn't directly say that, but the page was updated recently and we on WU don't get changes to the system that WO does. Check out what is written here about Linking: www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Linking It has always been my understanding that with each link, it increases your difficulty to success at the spell cast, the higher the success the better your cast will be. For those who don't want to read that link, the number of links a Priest can have is your (Channeling divided by 10 plus 1). So if you have Channeling of 70, then you will be able to have 8 links!
I hope this helps us all better understand why you should not cast Light of Fo during an event unless your and "Official" Caster for the event.
