At today's slaying, I was told not to heal the dragon. Apparently one or more players have complained that healing the dragon is griefing cause of more damage to armour and higher chance of dying.
We don't lose equipment or skills on death. Dents in armour are easily repaired. (And when tanking, I think my armour is probably the most dented) So I disagree with this statement. In my opinion, healing the dragon adds more fun to the event, as it lasts a few minutes longer (not much more, as after 3-5 heals the dragon gets resistant to heals and they don't do much/anything)
I want to know what everyone thinks about this ruling.

Heya Vitez! I am not currently aware of any staff ruling on this ( maybe someone will be able to point it out ) but I would def not consider it griefing. Our unique fights are pretty low risk, and as you mentioned the unique only gets a couple rounds of benefit. With how fast we typically face-melt them, my vote would be that this is fine.

I also find the idea of not healing the uniques pointless. We have such fast fights, with alot of people present and hardly any deaths. It's not a rule that we can't or shouldnt try to keep the fight going for as long as possible to make things a little more interesting.
There should be monuments for characters who die fighting the uniques....and for the people who heal the dragon to enable that glory! (Vorthos quote)

if i'm right, there is already a mod implemented on sklo, which "heal" the dragon sometime. we had already a few fights, as the unique healed self 1-3 times. but dom can give more infos about this one thing which a gm could do is, buff the unique a little bit.

I have never seen any issue with healing the Uniques. It adds a tiny bit of spice to the events as others have said. If your concerned about getting hurt or dying during fights your concerns are valid and I do understand it can be scary. That said there are better ways to handle these fears than ruin the fun for the community. I for one would be more than happy to help anyone who lost or had gear damaged at any future fight. My memory is garbage, but the only deaths I can recall are loot hoovering alts created 10 minutes before the fight started lol.

Healing uniques is fine for entertainment. Can't see anything bad about that.
The only thing where we would say it is griefing is if it is done to waste people's time.

I scratch my head on why this post even exists as on this server Wurm Online rules apply and healing any unique would not be permited ( they auto can heal any way, it would be classed as greefing. But we might need Dominik word on that as he is the server owner. I myself have never seen this happen on any of the WU servers i have been on and have a total of 17,941 hrs play time regards Ravenlofts

The staff works hard to do these event for the 2 servers and the teasing or rudeness can be tiresome to see in open chat (special the word "rigged"). Its no secret that the boss is healed giving the full feeling of a event - special for new player not understand or knowing what is going on. Veterans need to think of others that are younger players to the game and/or is there first time. Its the Exp.
When I first came to Liberty the learning curve was like a cliff, and so many skills and tools... so when I went to my first events, scared and felt that I could not do anything but die. But I went, little armor, the beginning sword, and I forgot my tent and I see all these people with top level armor and weapon shining. I had no ideal that the boss got healed by someone, thought this to be normal..... I lived and felt so proud. So keep it your mind that there someone there like that at every event.
The concern about the healing of a boss, is that random people started to heal the boss which throw off the "design person" to heal it. It base at 75% 50% 25% of the life of the boss this is a good ratio for a good event, most other games do this.
The only person that should heal the boss is the "main healer", I see the main tank and boss at the same time, I don't fight so I'm looking with my Mouse over the crowd to see the hurt people, which then triggers me to heal all, while watching the main Tank life, and then hit the boss with full heal, at the %. That a lot of watching and timing - then I get that random person cast "light of Fo" which throw my timer off and could lock out people for heals or heals the boss when I have a spell in cast for it.

There never have been any problems killing uniques at events, hardly anybody dies at the slayings. There is no penalty for death. And unique events only last for about 30 minutes, so there is also no timing issue.
I think there is no reason to discuss this any further. Healing uniques is ok as long as it stays within certain limits, as we already have been doing that for years.
