Hello hello, and welcome to a new wonderful world of decorating. I'm your mod author Danky, and I'm going to show you how to get started making your own wax mini models.
The mod itself can be a little complex, so bear with me as I run you through how to use the various parts.
== Obtaining ==
For now, the only method to obtain a kit for modeling is via treasure chests. Stay tuned for future updates that may introduce other methods.
== Using your kit ==
The kit is relatively simple to use, in only two steps.
First, activate your kit, and right click on any item you wish to make a mini copy of, this process will take a few seconds.
Copying an item will not only copy its model, but also the material. If you want a certain material, make sure what you copy is the same one!
If you get an error, that usually means you tried to copy an item you won't be able/allowed to. If the message mentions a premium kit, stay tuned for how to get those!
With your kit prepared, just heat up 1kg of beeswax. It doesn't quite have to be glowing hot, but it is simpler go the extra mile.
Activate your wax and right click on the kit, and choose to mold an item.
After a short few seconds, out will pop your brand new mini model! Check at your feet, it'll be on the ground.
== Your new wax model ==
Now that you have a brand new model... what can you do with it? Why, decorate of course!
Pick up your model and place it wherever you want. They're very light and compact, so they'll fit on top of just about any container.
Did I also forget to mention... you can paint them? Yes! You can paint them like any other object, but more than that, minis of objects that can't normally be painted can be painted.
(Please note, using dye will present you with TWO options. Paint is the normal option that colors objects. Dye will color the secondary color, and that only shows up on stuff that supports it like ship sails and chair seats. It will NOT do anything to objects that don't support it but will still consume dye!)
Now, not everything will be one-size-fits-all when it comes to decor. So, if your model is a little too big for your liking, just... cut it down to size.
If you grab a carving knife, you can cut off approximately 1% of the size with each use. Not enough for you? Grab a chisel to cut off 5% at a time, just be careful!
There is a lower limit. You start models off at 100% of their 'mini' scale, and can cut it down to a minimum of 25%. Be careful about over cutting, as once it is gone it can't be re-added.
If you've made a miscalculation in your cutting... or simply don't like the look of what you made, do not worry! We have top notch customer service spirits ready to assist you. Any time within 15 minutes of creating your model, you may exchange it back for a brand new kit! Just right click on the model and select 'Refund'
This will let you experiment a bit without worry, though you may eat up a lot of wax. Past the 15 minute mark, unfortunately you can no longer return this. It will be set in wax forever!
== Special models ==
You may have noticed it earlier, but we also have a special list of models you can't normally obtain! With your kit, if you activate it and right click anything you will see another option, 'Use Premade Mold'. Doing this will open a window allowing you to browse a special selection of models you won't be able to get your hands on any other way.
Once selected, the process for making the model is the same as before.
That's all for now. If you have any further questions or feedback, I highly encourage you to post about it! This mod took a bit of work, and may have further tweaks in the pipeline as players use it.
