Hi,
I've played WU a bit from release to 2016, seems like forever . Connected today to see what's what and as expected there is a whole new castle on my former deed. Nice to see that my old guard tower with the little pond around it are still there .
I guess I'll wait a couple of weeks for the snow to come down before I start looking for a new place. In the meantime, I've looked at the Liberty and Novus maps and they both look like metropolises, with not much wilderness to build upon. Or are the maps not very current and most of those places are actually abandoned and have returned to wilderness?
Also, wasn't there an in-game way to see my position on the map? All I get atm is the official WU maps when I hit 'Map'.

Welcome back Neofit, your name sounds very familar . Both Liberty and Novus have many deeds and a lot of wilderness left. We show every deed via JSON export, which is not done in Wurm Online, therefore many players are not used to seeing so many deeds on the map. While in reality, our maps are not more crowded than some Wurm Online servers. You can see your ingame position by typing /gps in the chat and following the link.

Question: I've read the Features/Overview pages, since decay is not mentioned, I guess I can assume that it is unchanged from the stock game?

How do deeds work for returning players? I've spent a few years in WO split in three sessions, and both times I have, upon returning, found a deed thingy in my inventory to replace the deed I had lost. Right now my inventory has some tools, some flowers (was I going on a date?), but no deed stake. If I need to buy a new one I don't mind, one has to pay for one's own entertainment, so what are my actions now?
Thanks.

I've had a rather epic journey so far. First I figured that some people deed like <censored>, with empty country-size deeds right next to each other, where one can't even forage for their food or healing covers for miles . A bit later I remembered that I had to actually yell "guards!" for the tower employees to actually do something . Anyway, now I've found an interesting undeeded (abandoned) spot but it has too much stuff on it, many FSBs, BSBs and crates, full to the brim. Also, strange thing, all these as well as furniture, both outside and inside the mostly decayed house, are grouped in clusters, as if someone was grouping stuff together before loading them into a mover's van. Looks more like a new feature than someone spending time doing that before quitting. I'd rather not have stuff handed to me. Do you guys, with your magic admin powers, provide a service to wipe everything out on an abandoned deed, godly wrath style?

Remember to always bash after you deed over the object. It is far easier to bash something on your deed than off.
