Caza could use a facelift.
Right now most spawners/spawns are just boring things that aren't needed since they exist everywhere else. Yay, another rat/scorp spawner on a server with hundred of scorps spawning in each desert and every mine full of rats already. How about some hyenas, worg spawners, champ troll spawners, sol demons, uttacha, spirit drakes? Things that would be a real challenge. Where are lootless uniques to test our mettle against?
There is ONE decent end-game spawner currently, greenish deathclawers, with ~50% of its spawn range covered by water. Hardly matters though, because 90% of the time the server is at one mob cap or the other and it spawns 1-3 crawlers a day. I spend waaay too much time killing hundreds of mobs to get it spawning again whenever I want a combat challenge.
One of the few good things going on was that there were no deeds, preventing area control. Not anymore. And to be fully doom and gloom against it, this will just lead to another server full of dead deed sites and useless roads.
Also the question I had from the post about deeds on caza. It said, "You are not allowed to deed over the range of a creature spawner that spawns special creatures like epic mobs...etc" , hopefully this will be hard coded into deed perms, something like everyone can pass gates/doors, fight, butcher, bury, regardless of deed settings? My understanding is the spawner range is significantly bigger than people would think (wiki says 50 or 100 tiles? but I personally think it to be 50 based on what I have seen over the years).

My 2 coppers:
Deeds on Caza, sure why not... but I'd recommend launching the "new caza" at the same time.
I feel a bit guilty at times regarding my 3 deeds being rather large (and rather criminally blocked off ad aeternum), then I look at the map and it goes away. What Elen says is true, Caza's hunting grounds will be reduced to perimeters between deeded Siberias in no time.

We will have a new Caza when it is needed Fair enough, and we do trust your judgement regarding keeping the server cool and balanced, for the record. Don't blame us for being a bit spooked, it IS the end of an era in a way. Steady supply of blood and souls for Death Knights and all that... Do you have any specific(ish?) plan to be revealed at a later a date, or are you open to us throwing random suggestions on this thread?

I am open to everything as long as it is clear that we can't implement every wish or suggestion. But we try our best as we did the last 8 years. We came a long way. The main idea behind this concept is that we will not need a whole new Hunting server if there are only 10 deeds on Caza.

Oh in that case... a thought or two....
A smaller caza, so a 1024... more condensed pure mayhem... oooor.....
Alternatively, two 1024's, one with mobs only up to troll, one with mobs from troll to valrei. (Basically to give newer players good but "safe" hunting grounds before graduating to the big stuff).
#MordRandomThoughts hehehehehe cheers sir

If we ever open up another server for any reason, it would be cool to see HoTS server for the Libilas to have some fun. It can give us full diversity for all play styles. I'm not suggesting we covert Caza, just a random thought. But I also like the idea of a smaller hunting server if that is the goal. Something to challenge our hunters.

Be very wary of server sprawl. WO has far too much of it. Old servers with a handful of players online. Everyone rushes to the new server. Loads of player cash is spent initially, but then the excitement eventually fades and deeds go idle. I very guilty of that myself. Novus is my main and I have a few sweet spots I've deeded, with expanded deeds, not just free place holders. I was against the Caza deed plan, but once it was enabled, I went and grabbed one because of FOMO. However, it sure doesn't seem like Caza is being overrun with settlers, so I don't see a reason to add in more hunting servers.
When I started on Novus, there were no such things as Bison and Hell Horses, except in deeded pens. All the hunting zones (desert and steppe) were completely packed. To me, it was obvious that nobody is hunting. I started working on clearing blue mobs to generate bison spawn, but eventually was gifted bison and stopped. Later, my cousin went nuts, to raise funds for her deed expansion and she slaughtered everything she could find. After over a week of it, she started running into both bison and hells, spawned in the wild. No names, no cares.
So clearly, our current servers are under hunted. Adding more servers for hunting will continue crippling existing servers.
In Wo, there are no hunting servers. That means everyone has to hunt their home servers for skill. We have no problem with hells spawning there. Bison are rare though, as there aren't many blue mob hunters there either. Only when new players show up and in Wurm, that is never a constant, steady flow.
New servers are fun, exciting things, but really should only be deployed if existing servers just get too crowded. Once a new server is deployed and people move to it, you are stuck with it. It took WO well over a decade to pull a nearly dead Epic server and even then, the rage some players expressed was pretty real.
I love the ability to make some really large deeds here. But I wonder if there should have been a limit imposed? No idea how easy it would be to mod the server settings to add in a cap for number of deed tiles, but I think it would be a good move. I'm guilty of big deeds that take more land than I can actually use, but I do it to protect a larger area around me from intrusion.
New servers potentially mean more events to manage: Rifts and Uniques. I don't think the staff needs more on their plates. THey do such an amazing job now and I'd be sad if it became an unwanted chore, trying to keep up with the events. You also have the extra deeding that everyone does, just to have a camp for the server events. All existing players rush to deed a spot on the shore that makes for quick travel from their home server.
FInally, regarding the original post of the thread... yes, crank it to 11. That sounds like fun!

There is loads of empty space on both servers here. You just need to look for it. What could be interesting would be afdter 6 months or so after a deed disbands that some magic happens and it is all brought back to its natural state somehow. I think then the livemap would for sure show the empty places.
